Welcome to,

I've been a train lover most all of my life. It started way back when my parents had been stopped by a passing train.
The wig wag signals, the bells clanging, and the lights flashing are
what hooked me, and of course, that monstrous train that went passing
in front of the car. My dad watched my face as I stood on the front
seat in awe.
A Lionel freight train was my first piece of railroad equipment that I found under the Christmas tree later that year.
That was approximately 60 plus years ago or so but, I really found
interest in the hobby when I later discovered HO scale modeling.
I have sense fine tuned my interests over the passing years to include
the logging and mining aspects of railroading and, now that I'm a
virtual railroader, 3 foot narrow gauge logging is my true love. The
mid to late 1800's and, maybe just into the 1900's, fascinates me.
Being born in 1947, may be why I love steam and the 'old days' so well, as far as modeling goes. (I've seen those big beasts in action.)
Modern day diesels do very little for me but, if I had to choose any of
them, I wouldn't care for anything later then the old F units.
I started creating in the virtual world with Train Sim Modeler then
moved up to 3D Canvas Pro. Both 3D modeling applications have their
advantages and disadvantages but 3DCP will render a model in most all
train sims to date. It also has great support unlike TSM.
Although, there is plenty of help scattered about the Internet for both
3D apps, finding a virtual railroading forum board is all that's needed
to get you pointed in the right direction...
Oh, come on, take me to the cool stuff...
